Fifty one teams from 14 nations will compete in the 2011 Audi Soling World Championship from 22 to 30 April.
Chiemsee Yacht Club in Germany will host the largest Soling fleet in a World Championship since 2000 with 51 boats.
"Chiemsee is one of the world's most unpredictable places to sail," said Stuart Walker (USA) whose boatPhoenix will present and helmed by Hans Fogh (CAN).
The fleet will feature many past champions from the last ten years who will be looking to either ratify or recover their title against many other top sailors. Twice Flying Dutchman World Champion Uwe Steingross (GER), who celebrated is 60th birthday with a victory in the Hungarian Soling Grand Prix with Tim Giesecke and Karster Eller will be in attendance with various other continental champions from Europe, North America and South America.
Of the attendees only Sergey Pichuguin (UKR) and Bill Abbott (CAN) are the only former champions who won't be making the trip to Chiemsee.
But the main surprise already shown at the Hungarian Grand Prix and at the Spring Trophy in Italy are the newcomers to the class with the average age decreasing by ten years in the 2011 Championship.
The proof comes through some top sailors in Gustavo Warburg (ARG) helming the Edding team and Italian Michele Tognozzi (ITA) also helming a crew.
Further crews from USA, France and Germany will also be attending at Chiemsee Yacht Club.
Racing begins on 25 April and will run until 30 April.
