Mr. and Mrs Scheidt

One comes from Lithuania and the other from Brazil. Together they live in Italy. Lago di Garda. Where they can train for sailing events. Today, they competed against each other in the Provincie Noord-Holland Championship Races, as they were the day winners in their classes.

“We met at the regatta in Beijing in 2007”, says Laser Radial sailor Gintare Scheidt and they have been together since. Their son of a year and nine months is at home and Italy was the perfect place to settle and start a family. “We love the place and I did not want to move to Brazil and Robert did not want to move to Lithuania. Most regattas are in Europe, so Italy is a good place to live. ”

Robert Scheidt represents Brazil in the Star and Gintare Scheidt Lithuania in the Radial. A bit confusing. Mrs. Scheidt answers a bit laughing and short and simple: “We cannot change our country, just because we are married.”

Her husband won the ‘family battle’ and the first Provincie Noord-Holland Championship Races.
